this was our first boyfriend-girlfriend anniversary as a married couple. it might sound weird but kim and i have agreed that we are still boyfriend and girlfriend even as we are husband and wife already. another reason why we got married during our 137th monthsary was so that we can always celebrate our bf-gf and wedding anniversaries at the same time.
i volunteered to plan this year’s celebration after being overwhelmed by kim’s sweetness during our 143rd monthsary in may. unfortunately, my plans were not weather-proof and i ended tweaking our itinerary due to the rainy weather over the weekend. half of our supposed activities was canceled but it’s okay because we still have more monthsaries to do those.
anyway, here’s how our weekend turned out. on friday, we allotted our morning for gift preparation and meet up by lunchtime. we decided to dine at our favorite krazy garlik in greenbelt 5. we had spinach and cream wantons, amazing krazy salad, spaghetti aglio olio and crème brûlée.
we exchanged gifts while waiting for our food. kim got me a pink instax mini 8 (with two packs of instax mini film) and this was a dream come true for me. i have always wanted an instant camera since the polaroid days. i’m so happy to own my first instant camera before i turn 30, yay! i, on the otherhand, bought parkour vouchers for kim. i also made a handsewn letter on paper.
kim’s reaction to my gift and my letter was so priceless, i think i already made up for last month eventhough my plan for this monthsary didn’t turn out as it should.
after lunch, we headed to up diliman for some reminiscing. twelve years ago was my first day as a freshman in up, the same day i broke kim’s heart for the second time. later that night, i mended what i have broken and tried to hold on to in wholly from then on. of course, our up trip will not be complete without eating mang larry’s isaw.
afterwards, we were supposed to have a paint and sip session but because of the rain we just headed to trinoma to have dinner at our favorite pizza place, california pizza kitchen, before catching the last full show of man of steel in 3d. we ordered our favorite roasted spinach and artichoke pizza. we also got free quesadillas using the stub from our man of steel tickets.
i initially planned a trip to pinto art museum for saturday but instead, we headed to sm aura for shopping. we also checked out mike stilkey’s discarded romance exhibit and the father’s day auto show at bonifacio high street.
we were supposed to try archery on sunday, but we had to make room for our rescheduled painting session at sip & gogh paint and sip studio at capitol greenstreet in quezon city. we made our own versions of van gogh’s starry night. afterwards, we had dinner at the nearby stacy’s before heading back to makati. i tried the grilled shrimp salad, while kim, still hangover from the rooftop prince, ordered omurice.
