i can’t believe our little boy will be in grade 7 (or first year high school) next school year. not surprisingly, i cried like a parent during his graduation ceremonies late last month. i felt so proud when he sang the responsorial psalm at the baccalaureate mass. he sounded like an angel despite not feeling well–he had fever and mumps the week of his graduation day.
after the mass, there was a short break for the students to dress up and have merienda. during which, i asked my nephew to recite his speech to me. i cried even before he finished, haha! my nephew was shocked to see me crying (and laughing at myself because i was crying), and i just told him to go ahead and finish his speech. i managed not to cry again during his actual speech. spot me being a stage auntie, taking a video clip of him delivering his speech:
he graduated with second honors, topping his class. he also received special awards: best in english, science, filipino, hele/computer, performing arts and co-curricular activities, and most punctual.
celebration was at max’s.
rajah was a bit sad because his ninong (my brother) did not attend his graduation and was not able to celebrate with us. so we just went to their house and “kidnapped” his cousin aya for some bonding time at the grocery (hehe!) and at home.
